'Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene'.
This lesson plan bundle contains four lesson plans that introduce students to Shakespeare and the play, and then cover act one, including the prologue.
These plans can be used on their own, but also make an excellent accompaniment to our Education Umbrella Press edition of Romeo and Juliet, which includes the unabridged play and scene summary and analysis, character profiles, vocabulary flashcards, exam help and more.
These lesson plans are part of a scheme of work that imagines 16 lessons spread over four weeks. In the first lesson, students read the 'Introduction to Shakespeare' and 'Introduction to Romeo and Juliet' notebooks from our very own guide in order to learn some important facts about Shakespeare and the context in which he wrote the play.
