Year 1 Seasonal changes: The four seasons

A new addition to the KS1 science curriculum is the standalone Year 1 unit 'Seasonal changes'. In this lesson, pupils discuss the changes in weather and day length that occur through the year, including how plants and animals respond to these changes. They are encouraged to research day length around the year.

    Pupils will learn:

    • Observe changes across the four seasons
    • Describe weather associated with the seasons and how day length varies
