Curriculum Vital

Year 2 Living things and their habitats: Dead or alive?

    It's alive.jpg

In this lesson, pupils learn about the differences between things that are alive, things that are dead and things that were never alive. They find examples of each in their local environment, handling their specimens responsibly, learn about what makes something 'alive' and write a horrror story with characters influenced by what they have learnt. This may be followed by Living things and their habitats: Habitats and micro-habitats and Living things and their habitats: Connected lives.

    Pupils will learn:

    • The differences between things that are living, dead and things that have never been alive.
