    Year 4 Electricity: Using Electricity

    Due to changes in the national curriculum, all physics-based units have been moved from KS1 to KS2. In this lesson which first introduces electricity, pupils contruct simple appliances and learn about electrical appliances, the dangers of electricity and what makes a good conductor. This lesson may be followed with Electricity: Different Circuits.

    Pupils will learn:

    • Which household appliances run on electricity
    • How to construct circuits
    • What materials make good conductors and insulators
    • How electricity can be dangerous
