    Year 1 Animals, including humans: What do animals eat?

    In this lesson, pupils discuss what they feed their pets and come to the conclusion that different animals require different diets. They learn that animals can be grouped based on their diets and use their knowledge to design meals for wild animals. This lesson uses material from the new KS1-2 national curriculum. It may be preceded by Animals, including humans: Pets and other animals and followed by Animals, including humans: Basic body parts and Animals, including humans: Five senses.

    Pupils will learn:

    • How to identify and name a variety of animals that are carnivores, herbivores or omnivores.
