Description

'An Arundel Tomb' is about the heavy passage of time and our touching attempts to outlast it. This Lesson Plan can be used in conjunction with our Lesson Plan on 'Ozymandias' by Percy Bysshe Shelley.

Philip Larkin is perhaps the most beloved 20th century British poet, and this poem ends with one of his most iconic and celebrated lines, 'What will survive of us is love.'

Our lesson plan helps students become intimately familiar with the poem, its meaning and context.
